The country’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs honored the winners on Friday.
A total of 604 Qataris (males and females) and 1,482 residents (males and females) received financial prizes and certificates in a ceremony held at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque in the capital, Doha.
More than 3,000 children competed in the competition’s Young Children category, making this year’s edition the most competitive ever.
Under this branch’s rules, citizens aged 12 or below and residents aged eight or below participate in one of the last five Juz’ of the Noble Quran.
